Scott Shachtman

Professional Activity

Shachtman is a sustaining member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA). He was the chair of the Public Service Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the KCMBA, and he founded the Meet & Greet for our local judges. The Meet & Greet is an annual event that gives area lawyers an opportunity to visit with local Judges in a casual social setting.

Shachtman is an advocate with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) and a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. He has also attended Trial Advocacy Colleges in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Shachtman has appeared as a speaker on behalf of the National Business Institute, addressing the topic of Achieving Favorable Personal Injury Settlements in Kansas and Missouri. In addition, he has been a featured lecturer on the topics of Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Damages, Deposition Tactics and Trial Strategy.

Personal Life

A Chicago native, Shachtman made Kansas City his home more than 25 years ago. Although he has a passion for law, what Shachtman loves most is spending time with his wife, Heather, and their three young daughters, Talia, Isabelle and Alexandra. Away from the office, he enjoys being outdoors with his family and going out with Heather and their many close and wonderful friends.
